Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome enquiries for volunteers and training on any of our projects. In the past, volunteers have participated in, among others:
- Fin Cop Hillfort Excavation
- The Till Tweed Geoarchaeology Project
- The Howick Project
- Hunterheugh Crags rock art excavation
As well as the fieldwork component of our projects, we welcome volunteers to the post-excavation and outreach work which follows. This has included interpretation of the archaeology to the public and experimental reconstruction at sites such as Maelmin Heritage Trail.
A large proportion of the volunteers who participate in ARS Ltd projects are members of local archaeological and history groups. As such, we have positive links with many societies such as the Northumberland Archaeological Group and the Border Archaeology Society, and are always keen to forge new connections with local interest groups. Most recently, we have worked with Longstone Local History Group on an excavation of Fin Cop Hillfort in Derbyshire.
Watch this page for upcoming opportunities for volunteers.
