Palaeoenvironmental Officer and Assistant Projects Officer (Bakewell)

£21,000 - £26,000 with benefits package

Permanent position (subject to completion of 6 months probation)

Applications are invited for a professional, highly motivated and capable archaeological palaeoenvironmental specialist with an excellent track record in undertaking geoarchaeological mapping and sediment coring, flotation, pollen analysis, botanical macrofossil analysis and wood and charcoal analysis.

You will be required to produce high quality reports for commercial and commissioned projects. You will have a proven track record in the use of key equipment and software such as GPS units and total stations as well as Tilia and Oxcal.

You must also have experience in, and be willing to undertake, general archaeological tasks including fieldwork and project work. You will need to have excellent written English skills and be responsible for completing environmental assessments and analyses on commercial and research-based archaeological projects.

A good knowledge of British archaeology is highly desirable as well as a track record in reports and publication. You must be able to work as an effective team member who can be relied on to deliver to tight deadlines. The post will be located in our Bakewell office and you will be responsible to the Projects Manager.

The post is tenable with immediate effect and subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, will become a permanent position thereafter.
