Projects Officer (Bakewell)

£22,000 - £25,000 with generous benefits package

Applications are invited for a professional, highly motivated and capable Projects Officer, with experience of running field projects, undertaking post-excavation work and producing high quality reports for a wide range of projects. Ideally the candidate will also have experience in historic building surveys. You will have responsibility for undertaking and delivering a wide range of projects working from our Bakewell Office where you will be accountable to the Projects Manager. You will need to have excellent written English skills and will be responsible for completing work on commercial and research-based archaeological projects. You must also have strong IT skills and ideally be competent in CAD and/or GIS. A good knowledge of British archaeology is highly desirable as well as a track record in reports and publication. You must be able to work as an effective team member who can be relied on to deliver to tight deadlines.

The post will become a permanent position subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.

Archaeological Officers/Assistant Project Officers, Bakewell

£18,500 - £21,000 dependent on experience with generous benefits package

Timescale: The post is tenable with immediate effect, and subject to successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, which will become a permanent position thereafter. Details:Applications are invited from highly motivated and professional individuals suited to a corporate environment with at least one year’s professional field experience (preferably more), a full driving license, own vehicle and a valid CSCS card. ‘Archaeological Officer’ is our competent archaeologist grade, although we are also looking for more experienced archaeologists for Assistant Project Officers. We provide in-house training for all our staff to support the professional development of our team.

You will have responsibility for helping to deliver a wide range of projects working out of our Bakewell office where you will be accountable to the Project Manager and then the Operations Manager. Although you will be attached to this office you will be required from time to time to work elsewhere in the UK depending on where jobs are located and this will include occasional overnight stays. If applying for the higher grade then the more experience in report production, digital illustration the better. We are excited to hear from anyone who fulfils these criteria. We have a variety of projects coming on stream and are looking to recruit immediately. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals able to undertake watching briefs, evaluation trenching and excavation work.

You must have excellent fieldwork skills including use of surveying instruments, English skills and strong IT skills and ideally have some experience in the use of CAD and/or GIS and the use of surveying instruments. We are looking for a hard working, professional and dependable individual who can be trusted to follow instructions and deliver project work.
