Financial: £18,000 for Archaeological Officer post with generous benefits package
Timescale: The post is tenable with immediate effect, and subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, will become a permanent position thereafter.
Details: Applications are invited for a highly motivated archaeologist with a professional demeanour, good field experience and a full UK driving license, own vehicle and a CSCS card. We are excited to hear from anyone who fulfils these criteria. ‘Archaeological Officer’ is our early career grade, although we would be equally happy to consider applicants with higher than entry level experience. Training will be provided to support the professional development of the successful individual.
You will have responsibility for undertaking and helping to deliver a wide range of projects working out of our Manchester office where you will be accountable to the Office Manager and then the Operations Manager. Although you will be attached to this office you will be required to work elsewhere in the UK from time to time depending on where jobs are located.
You must have excellent English skills and strong IT skills and ideally have some experience in the use of CAD and/or GIS and the use of surveying instruments. We are looking for a hard working, professional and dependable individual who can be trusted to follow instructions and deliver project work. Archaeological Research Services Ltd Operations Manager (Bakewell, Derbyshire)
£27,000 with benefits package (potential to discuss in the case of exceptional candidate)
3 months probation leading to permanent position
Applications are invited for a highly motivated and experienced professional with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and with a strong track record in delivering all aspects of archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation work ideally including technical skills. You must be able to show a proven ability to manage staff work schedules to complete jobs on time and to standard whilst providing support, guidance and encouragement to project staff. In addition we require experience in producing high standard project reports, meeting productivity goals and quality outcomes within project budget. We are happy to consider applications from non-heritage professionals who have the outstanding skill sets we are looking for and believe they can adapt to this role. The successful candidate will be keen to adopt our Company culture and promote our values amongst junior staff. The post will be located at our head office in the beautiful town of Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District, a short drive from Sheffield or Manchester. With commercial archaeology following the work demands of the construction industry you will be required to work flexibly to achieve this, including some regular travel throughout central and southern England.
